"Sovtest ATE" was founded in 1991, in the year of dramatic changes for Russia, when the Soviet Union with its Communist rules and traditions collapsed leaving the stage for the new government and new country. Government was no longer the only one proprietor in the country, but still it was a real challenge for "Sovtest ATE" to begin its activity in conditions of the global changes which needless to say leaded to an inevitable economical crisis. The first field of the company's activity was warranty and post-warranty servicing of PCs and office equipment, repair of industrial electronic equipment of both domestic and import manufacture: power supply modules, industrial controllers etc. In 1991 Sovtest Ltd acted as a joint Russian-British enterprise occupying with technical servicing of "Marconi" equipment, control equipment, test equipment supplies, electronic components supplies, repair and sells of computing machinery and office equipment.  The fact that Sovtest not only survived in these desperate economical conditions, but succeeded in its activity, speaks about the reliability and stability of our company and also about the highest quality of the equipment and services provided by Sovtest. December 12, 1993 became a significant day in Russian history. The current Constitution of the Russian Federation was adopted by national referendum. It replaced the previous Soviet-era Constitution of April 12, 1978 of Russian Soviet Federated Socialist Republic following the Russian constitutional crisis of 1993. The Constitution formed the final legal basis of the country, providing the new opportunities for Russian business. In 1994 "Sovtest ATE" began working independently as a Russian company occupying with deliveries of technological, test, environmental and cable processing equipment. That time the staff of the company consisted of 13 specialists. For the given moment "Sovtest ATE" has been already successfully working for 19 years in the Russian and CIS countries electronic markets. Today we have a large field of activity including supplies of: - test equipment; - equipment for microelectronics; - surface-mount technology (SMT) equipment; - equipment for environmental impact testing (temperature, humidity, salty fog, dust, etc.) and mechanical impacts (vibration, shock, etc.); - cable and wire processing equipment; - components for manufacturing in electronics; - equipment for testing electronics and electrical equipment in automotive industry at the stage of manufacturing and servicing. Also "Sovtest ATE" has its own production. The company manufactures equipment and creates programs for quality control of manufactured products at various production stages (ATE): from equipment of incoming inspection, circuit boards testing, assembled units to development of such test systems which are already used in complex production areas and etc. The area of our new office is 1000 m² (10764 sq. feet). The Company"s staff is 50 specialists.  Also we have the new activity fields such as supplies of equipment for microelectronics and our own design and manufacture. Today "Sovtest ATE" is covering almost all Russia (Central, South, Siberia, Far East, North-West, Ural, Volga regions) and a certain number of CIS countries (The Ukraine, Belorussia, Kazakhstan).  "Sovtest ATE" cooperates with a great number of the Industry leaders in Europe, Asia and North America. Among our partners there are the companies recognized in the whole world: Teradyne, Juki, Seica, Vitronics Soltec, DiagnoSYS Ltd, Schleuniger, TIRA, Polar, Dage, Pbt, VOTCH and others.  Our partners are located in - USA, Canada, Great Britain, Switzerland, France, Italy, Belgium, The Netherlands, Israel, Japan, Taiwan, South Korea.   Since 2007 work of our company will be based on CRM software. This software serves to achieve following goals: - Extension of information base about Customers. This information can be available for managers of different departments - Gathering of marketing information - Using of working results by different departments. There are 3 main blocks in the software: - Sells - Marketing - Service In the harsh conditions of market's competition the possibility of production realization is defined by product quality. The quality and competitiveness of Sovtest's production and services, and also the image and reputation of our company are confirmed by the introduction of Quality Management System in 2002 according to the international requirements of ISO 9001:2000 standards. It concerns: - Design, production and supplies of test equipment and software - Supplies, commissioning and service of environmental, technological and control equipment "Sovtest ATE" is a member of IPC (Association Connecting Electronic Industries) Since May 18, 2004 Sovtest ATE is a full member of IPC, the International Association of electro technology and electronics industry, connecting the manufacturers of electro technological materials, PCBs, electronics and equipment for electronics, etc. This gives us an opportunity to provide to the Customer the modern and effective testing technologies. Advantages of IPC membership: * Technological process development for the Customer on the basis of IPC standards * Arrangement of technological processes according to IPC standards * Providing IPC standards to Customers In average the company takes part in 7 different exhibitions a year. We represent our activities at the most important trade shows in Russia (Moscow, Saint-Petersburg and other regional cities) and abroad. For example, in September 2006 our Company represented its own device Sovtest Fault Locator SFL 2500 at the exhibition for electronics in India ("ELCOMP India 2006"). With the same device "Sovtest ATE" took part in "Electrotech 2007" in Turkey. And in 2007 "Sovtest ATE" was only the one Russian company which took part in "Productronica 2007" in Munich, Germany.  Annually the company arranges seminars on different current subjects in electronics industry. The seminars can be held independently by "Sovtest ATE" or in cooperation with the foreign partners. The seminar can take place in our office in Kursk or in other cities. Participation is always free of charge! Seminars in Kursk On the 12th and 13th of March we held seminar "Modern technologies and equipment in microelectronics". Among our foreign partners, who made their presentations, it is necessary to mention - Keith Bryant (DAGE), Guénaël RIBETTE (S.E.T.) and Dirk Shade (XYZTEC).  Our specialists are the authors of many articles in different popular magazines on electronics. Moreover, our company publishes its articles in foreign magazines - USA, Europe and Asia.  In January 2007 we launched the new version of our web-site. Advantages: - User-friendliness (higher speed, easy information overview) - Functionality - English version One of innovations we are planning to launch on our web-site is videoconference option, with the help which our engineers will be able to consult Customers not only by phone, but using web-cameras. In 2006 our company issued Catalogues for 4 directions of supplied equipment. The Catalogues contain detailed descriptions of equipment, functional principles, technical specifications, etc. In April, 2007 we issued one more catalogue for our new activity field - Microelectronics. The last editions of the catalogues appeared in April, 2008.  In the Sovtest ATE's office there are large show-rooms where we represent the main types of supplied equipment.
